Industrial Engineering Analyst — Manufacturing Operations & Process Optimization

About The Opportunity

An industry-leading manufacturing organization is seeking a detail-oriented and analytically driven Industrial Engineering Analyst to support operational improvement initiatives across manufacturing, logistics, and production systems. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with engineering, operations, supply chain, and vendor teams to improve workflows, optimize plant processes, and support large-scale manufacturing efficiency initiatives.

The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced industrial environments, enjoys solving operational challenges through data and analysis, and has a strong foundation in engineering principles, manufacturing systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.

This position is especially well suited for an early-career Mechanical or Industrial Engineer who enjoys combining analytical problem solving with hands-on operational collaboration.

Location: Onsite Manufacturing Environment

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (overtime as needed)

Contract Length: Approximately 6 months with potential extension based on business needs and performance

What You’ll Be Working On

Manufacturing & Process Improvement Support

Assist with the development, improvement, and implementation of integrated manufacturing and operational systems involving materials, workflows, equipment, information flow, and production processes.

Support manufacturing engineering teams with workstation optimization, operational flow improvements, and plant layout initiatives designed to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

Contribute to operational excellence initiatives using continuous improvement tools, lean methodologies, and process optimization techniques.

Assist with standard work development for both existing and new production lines.

Inventory & Logistics Analysis

Conduct inventory audits, analyze operational discrepancies, and investigate material flow issues impacting manufacturing or logistics performance.

Review part numbers, inventory records, and operational data to identify root causes of process inefficiencies or material inconsistencies.

Support storage optimization initiatives and collaborate with stakeholders to improve space utilization and inventory organization.

Assist with PFEP (Plan for Every Part) documentation updates and ongoing material flow management initiatives.

Vendor & Cross-Functional Coordination

Partner with vendors and suppliers throughout project lifecycles, supporting coordination efforts from concept review through production execution.

Review CAD models, engineering concepts, and technical documentation to support project alignment and operational accuracy.

Collaborate across engineering, operations, logistics, safety, and manufacturing teams to ensure projects move efficiently and accurately.

Data Analysis & Documentation

Gather, interpret, and analyze operational data to support process improvements and engineering decisions.

Create and maintain process documentation, reports, workflows, and supporting project materials.

Utilize Excel and analytical tools to evaluate trends, optimize workflows, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Bring

Technical & Engineering Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related STEM discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering, manufacturing, operations, or process improvement experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, industrial engineering concepts, and operational workflows
  • Ability to review and interpret CAD models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Preferred Technical Experience

  • Experience with manufacturing analysis, workstation optimization, or process layout improvements
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, or operational excellence methodologies
  • Understanding of ergonomic principles, line balancing, work measurement, or process simulation concepts
  • Experience working with inventory systems, logistics operations, or material flow processes

Software & Analytical Tools

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with operational datasets
  • Experience reviewing CAD software outputs or engineering design concepts
  • Ability to organize, interpret, and communicate technical information clearly
