Senior Software Engineer — Full Stack Product Development
This opportunity is with a client of Andiamo, supporting a leading organization in the digital media and consumer platform space. The team is focused on delivering high-impact, user-centric applications that serve a large and highly engaged audience.
About The Role
This is a pivotal engineering position for someone who goes beyond execution and actively shapes how software is designed, built, and delivered. You’ll tackle complex technical challenges across the stack while influencing engineering standards, architectural direction, and team growth.
As a senior member of the team, you’ll be trusted to take ownership of meaningful initiatives, guide technical decisions, and contribute to a culture of excellence. Your work will directly impact product quality, system reliability, and the overall user experience.
What You’ll Do
Lead Complex Feature Development
Drive the design and implementation of sophisticated, cross-functional features—owning projects from early concept through deployment and iteration.
Shape Technical Direction
Make thoughtful architectural decisions that balance speed, scalability, and long-term maintainability across systems and services.
Collaborate on Product Outcomes
Work closely with product managers and designers to refine requirements, challenge assumptions, and ensure solutions are both effective and sustainable.
Elevate Code Quality
Set a high standard through code reviews, offering clear, actionable feedback that strengthens both the codebase and the team’s capabilities.
Improve System Health
Identify technical debt, performance issues, and reliability risks early—implementing solutions that prevent problems before they scale.
Mentor and Develop Others
Support the growth of fellow engineers through guidance, collaboration, and leading by example in both technical and professional development.
Contribute to Engineering Strategy
Help define best practices across testing, deployment, observability, and overall engineering excellence within the team.
What You Bring
Experience
5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a history of delivering complex, production-grade systems.
Full-Stack Expertise
Strong proficiency across both frontend and backend development, with the ability to navigate and contribute at any layer.
System Design Skills
Experience designing scalable, reliable systems and making informed trade-offs in distributed environments.
Project Ownership
Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives from planning through execution, coordinating across teams when needed.
Mentorship
A track record of helping other engineers grow through collaboration, feedback, and shared problem-solving.
Judgment & Execution
Ability to balance speed and quality—knowing when to iterate quickly and when to invest in long-term solutions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.
Experience building and maintaining high-traffic, user-facing web applications.
A strong curiosity and commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
Location & Compensation
This role is based in Boston, MA, with in-office collaboration opportunities.
Compensation typically ranges from $150,000 to $170,000, depending on experience, expertise, and other relevant factors.
Why This Role Stands Out
Work on products used by a large and engaged user base.
Contribute to a modern technology environment with real-world scale and complexity.
Influence technical decisions without requiring formal people management responsibilities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, product, and data.
Be part of a culture that values thoughtful problem-solving, experimentation, and craftsmanship.
Why This Role Matters
This position plays a key role in shaping both the product and the engineering organization. Your contributions will improve system performance, elevate team standards, and directly enhance the experience of end users.
