OT Security Architect — Industrial Systems & Cyber Resilience
Shape the future of secure industrial operations. This opportunity is ideal for experienced architects who understand the complexity of operational technology environments and are passionate about designing secure, scalable systems that protect critical infrastructure without compromising performance.
This role is with a client of Andiamo, supporting large-scale industrial and manufacturing environments where cybersecurity, reliability, and operational continuity intersect. You’ll play a central role in defining how modern security principles are applied across complex OT ecosystems.
Role Overview
As an OT Security Architect, you will lead the design and evolution of cybersecurity frameworks across industrial networks. This position requires both strategic vision and hands-on expertise—translating high-level security goals into practical, deployable architectures that support plant operations, safety requirements, and enterprise standards.
You will collaborate across engineering, IT, cybersecurity, and operations teams to ensure that systems are secure by design, aligned to global standards, and adaptable to future business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture Strategy & Design
Define and evolve the long-term security architecture for OT environments, ensuring alignment with operational priorities, safety requirements, and enterprise cybersecurity strategies.
Framework Development
Create and maintain reference architectures for manufacturing facilities, secure remote access models, and other critical OT use cases, enabling consistency and scalability across environments.
Security Technology Enablement
Evaluate, select, and guide implementation of OT-focused security solutions, including network visibility, segmentation, endpoint protection, and identity controls.
Standards Alignment
Ensure all designs adhere to leading frameworks such as IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82, NIST CSF, and CIS benchmarks, embedding best practices into every layer of the architecture.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Partner with cybersecurity teams, IT organizations, system integrators, and plant operations to align technical solutions with business and operational goals.
Design Governance
Lead architectural reviews, define technical requirements, and ensure new initiatives meet established security and performance standards.
Program Support & Expansion
Provide architectural guidance for new site builds, system integrations, and acquisition-related initiatives across domestic and international operations.
Risk & Resilience Planning
Contribute to scenario planning and tabletop exercises, strengthening organizational readiness and response to potential cyber threats.
Executive Communication
Present architectural direction, risks, and recommendations to leadership, translating complex technical concepts into clear business insights.
Required Qualifications
OT/ICS Expertise
7–12+ years of experience working within industrial or operational technology environments, with a strong foundation in networking and cybersecurity.
Architecture Experience
Proven ability to design and implement secure architectures across industrial networks, including segmentation, remote access, and monitoring solutions.
Technical Knowledge
Deep understanding of industrial communication models, including Purdue architecture, OSI/TCP-IP layers, and secure network design principles.
Security Frameworks
Hands-on experience applying standards such as IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82, NIST CSF, and CIS benchmarks.
Networking Fundamentals
Strong knowledge of routing, switching, and network infrastructure within complex environments.
Strategic Thinking
Ability to balance competing priorities including system availability, safety, operational efficiency, and security requirements.
Communication Skills
Excellent ability to convey technical strategies to diverse audiences, from engineers to executive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certifications in cybersecurity or networking (e.g., IEC 62443, CISSP, SANS OT certifications, CCNP/CCIE/CCDE).
Experience applying Zero Trust principles within OT environments.
Background supporting global manufacturing or industrial operations.
Familiarity with enterprise architecture methodologies and large-scale transformation initiatives.
What Makes You a Strong Fit
You think in systems and design for long-term scalability.
You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity and leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.
You understand that security in OT environments must coexist with uptime and safety.
You can move seamlessly between strategy and execution.
You’re driven to build resilient, future-ready infrastructure in critical environments.
Why This Role Matters
Industrial systems are the backbone of global operations—and securing them is both a technical challenge and a business imperative. In this role, your work will directly influence how organizations protect critical assets, maintain operational continuity, and adapt to an evolving threat landscape.
If you’re looking to apply your expertise in a role where architecture decisions have real-world impact, this is an opportunity to lead at the intersection of cybersecurity and industrial innovation.
