Role Overview
The Product Lead for Safety and Zone Monitoring is responsible for bridging the gap between advanced sensor technology and real-world industrial safety applications. You will guide customers through the implementation process, develop best-in-class technical resources, and influence how safety features are delivered and adopted across industrial environments. Key Responsibilities
Customer Integration & Technical Enablement
Partner directly with customers to support the design and deployment of safety-critical systems using advanced sensing technologies. Provide hands-on guidance during system setup and integration to ensure successful implementation.
Travel to customer sites as needed to assist with system bring-up, troubleshooting, and optimization of safety configurations.
Safety System Design Support
Collaborate with customers to architect solutions that meet industrial safety requirements, including zone monitoring and machine safety applications.
Provide expertise on integrating sensors with safety controllers and communication protocols to ensure compliance and performance.
Technical Documentation Leadership
Own and evolve the documentation strategy for safety-related features, including user guides, integration manuals, and technical resources.
Develop clear, structured, and highly accessible documentation that simplifies complex concepts through visual aids, real-world examples, and step-by-step guidance.
Continuously refine documentation based on customer feedback and real-world implementation challenges.
Product & Field Feedback Loop
Gather insights from customer interactions and field deployments to inform product improvements and future feature development.
Act as a key voice of the customer, ensuring that product capabilities align with real-world use cases and safety requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with engineering teams to align product features with customer needs and technical constraints. Participate in discussions around firmware, communication protocols, and system capabilities.
Industry Standards & Best Practices
Ensure solutions and documentation align with relevant industrial safety standards and best practices. Help customers navigate certification requirements and compliance considerations.
Required Qualifications
Professional Experience
At least five years of experience in engineering, technical product management, or applications engineering within industrial automation, robotics, sensing technologies, or related fields.
Industrial Safety Expertise
Familiarity with safety-critical systems, including zone monitoring applications, safety controllers (such as safety PLCs), and protective technologies like light curtains.
Technical Knowledge
Ability to engage in detailed technical discussions involving system architecture, communication protocols (e.g., industrial fieldbus or safety communication standards), and firmware-level features.
Customer-Focused Mindset
Strong understanding that successful product adoption depends on clear guidance, reliable integration, and customer confidence in system performance and safety compliance.
Communication & Documentation Skills
