About The Role

Our team ingests and prepares massive datasets for reporting, dashboards, self-service tools, and advanced analytics. We are seeking a software engineer with deep experience in Business Intelligence platforms, specifically Qlik and Power BI, who can both deliver solutions and define a long-term strategy for visualization technologies.

- Support the analytics community by hosting office hours and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Work directly with BI vendors to troubleshoot and optimize tool usage.
- Implement integrations and automation using APIs, Python, and JavaScript.
- Document best practices and create self-service resources for business users.
- Evaluate new tools, extensions, and software upgrades, ensuring industry best practices are adopted.
- Manage stakeholder relationships and prioritize team initiatives.
- 4+ years of experience with QlikSense API development (QRS, QPS, Qlik Engine API).
- 4+ years of experience in SQL and dimensional modeling.
- Proficiency in Python and JavaScript for integrations and tool development.
- Strong background in data reporting, visualization, and storytelling with analytics.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with additional BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Superset.
- Knowledge of Qlik Cloud offerings and extension development.
- Experience working with large-scale datasets and data warehouse methodologies.
- Familiarity with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica) and performance optimization techniques.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and requirement-gathering skills.

What You’ll Do

- Work directly with Qlik/Power BI to resolve issues and optimize usage.
- Implement integrations and automation using platform APIs, Python, and JavaScript.
- Document FAQs and best practices to enable self-service.
- Run regular knowledge shares on visualization patterns and standards.
- Evaluate new solutions, extensions, and software upgrades; maintain a runbook for tool assessments.
- Own stakeholder management and streamline the team’s book of work.
- 4+ years of Qlik Sense API development (QRS, Repository Service API, Proxy Service API, Engine API).
- 4+ years of SQL and dimensional data modeling.
- Ability to write Python and JavaScript for build, tooling, and integrations.
- Strong reporting/visualization skills with a knack for storytelling and actionable analytics.
- BA/BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with Tableau, Looker, Superset, or other BI platforms.
- Experience with very large data volumes and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of Qlik Cloud and building extensions with Capability/Engine APIs.
- Understanding of data warehousing and ETL (e.g., Informatica).
- Requirements gathering, scope management, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Familiarity with VLDB concepts (partitioning, sharding, distribution, optimization).
