Federal Sales Account Executive, Department of Defense & Civilian Agencies

We are seeking a driven and mission focused Federal Sales Account Executive to accelerate growth across the Department of Defense and Federal Civilian agencies. This role is ideal for a strategic seller who thrives in complex environments, enjoys navigating high impact government missions, and has a strong track record of closing enterprise AI and advanced analytics solutions within the federal market.

Role Overview

In this position, you will play a critical role in expanding adoption of cutting edge Artificial Intelligence software that directly supports national defense priorities. Your focus will be on helping military and civilian leaders improve readiness, logistics, sustainment, and operational availability through modern data driven platforms.

This is a high visibility opportunity for a sales leader who understands the nuances of federal procurement, can build trusted relationships across senior decision makers, and can guide opportunities from early discovery through contract award.

What You Will Own

  • Lead the full sales cycle from prospecting and pipeline development through negotiation, award, and close
  • Build and execute strategic account plans targeting key DoD commands and federal civilian organizations
  • Identify mission critical stakeholders, uncover operational challenges, and align solutions to readiness priorities
  • Develop long term relationships with senior leaders, program owners, influencers, and end users
  • Serve as a consultative partner by translating AI capabilities into measurable mission outcomes

Key Mission Areas You Will Support

  • Aircraft, naval, and ground vehicle sustainment, maintenance, and operational availability
  • Medical equipment readiness and personnel preparedness across the total force
  • Warehousing, materiel storage, and supply chain logistics for specialized defense assets
  • Data modernization efforts that improve decision making through explainable AI

Cross Functional Collaboration

You will work closely with technical solution engineers, product leaders, marketing, and account management teams to deliver high impact demonstrations, proposals, and responses to RFIs and RFPs. Success in this role requires both independent execution and strong internal partnership.

Market Awareness and Positioning

  • Maintain deep awareness of defense and civilian agency priorities, acquisition trends, and competitive dynamics
  • Navigate contracting pathways and procurement vehicles to accelerate deal progression
  • Position advanced AI software as a trusted enabler of operational excellence and readiness improvement

Required Experience And Skills

  • 5 or more years of quota carrying success in a Federal Account Executive role
  • Strong preference for experience selling into DoD and or Federal Civilian agencies
  • Proven ability to sell complex enterprise software such as AI, machine learning, data analytics, or similar platforms
  • Demonstrated expertise managing long, multi stakeholder sales cycles and strategic account planning
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage technical and non technical audiences
  • Highly motivated self starter who thrives in fast paced, collaborative environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing relationships within logistics, sustainment, or readiness communities across the DoD
  • Strong understanding of federal contracting vehicles and acquisition frameworks
  • Experience with MEDDIC, Challenger, or other structured enterprise sales methodologies
  • Active security clearance or ability to obtain one
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

Security Clearance Requirement

This role requires the ability to obtain and maintain an interim and or final security clearance. Continued employment may depend on meeting clearance eligibility requirements.
