The Opportunity

As a Systems Support Specialist, you will take on a key role in maintaining, securing, and optimizing our IT systems. You will not only provide end-user support but also help scale our IT infrastructure, automate processes, and enhance system reliability. The Work

Collaborating across departments, you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our IT infrastructure. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Administering and maintaining IT systems, including servers, networks, cloud environments, and enterprise applications
  • Managing user accounts, permissions, and security settings across multiple platforms, including Office 365, Active Directory, and cloud services
  • Automating and optimizing IT workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual tasks
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting network performance, server health, and security vulnerabilities
  • Assisting with the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including Windows and Linux environments
  • Supporting remote and on-site employees with advanced technical issues and system access requirements
  • Assisting with IT security initiatives, including endpoint protection, vulnerability management, threat response, security policies, employee training, and compliance measures
  • Researching and implementing new technology solutions to enhance IT operations
  • Documenting system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides to streamline IT support
  • Collaborating with external vendors and service providers as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience with Windows and Linux server administration
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs
  • Proficiency with Office 365 administration and cloud-based IT services
  • Experience with IT automation tools such as PowerShell, Bash scripting, or Ansible is a plus
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and endpoint security tools
  • CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA, Azure Fundamentals) are a plus
  • Passion for technology and a drive to continuously learn and grow in IT and systems administration
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • This is a full-time, exempt position.
  • This job operates in a professional office environment in Louisville, KY. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
  • Ability to travel occasionally
  • Ability to re-prioritize when necessary
  • Ability to independently manage priorities and take initiative on issues
  • Strong work ethic and are flexible working extra hours when needed
  • Ability to self-direct or self-motivate
  • Ability to work in the Louisville (Nulu) office ~3-4 days a week.
