We’re helping the world become more resilient to the impacts of physical climate risks (including floods, fires, storms and more). In doing so, we help drive positive global impact aligned to many of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s).

Our team builds cutting-edge, peer-reviewed science (incorporating climate projections, remote sensing data) and translates that into financial impacts (to the value of assets or business disruption linked to failure of critical infrastructure) that our customers in the financial services industry use to identify, manage and mitigate those risks.

Climate X’s customers include the world’s largest banks, asset managers and insurance companies including CBRE, Standard Chartered, Virgin Money, as well as a partnership ecosystem that includes Deloitte, Capgemini and AWS. Combined, they manage over $6.5 trillion of assets.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly driven Risk Specialist to join our US sales team, with a background in financial services, particularly in climate physical risk management, who is eager to pivot into a dynamic, client-facing role.

This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in risk management and financial services to drive impact – not just at one company, but across many of the leading financial service institutions including major banks, insurers and asset managers across North America.

We recognise that you may not have past sales experience – Climate X will provide the support and training you need to transition into this role. You’ll be the trusted expert on climate risk for our clients, helping them understand how our climate risk data can drive business value and integrate into their operations and decision-making processes.

This is a unique opportunity. You’ll work directly with Climate X’s co-founder/CEO and be part of the founding US team.

The Impact You’ll Own:

  • Lead the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting and client engagement to deal closure and onboarding.
  • Be the trusted voice of expertise for our clients, guiding them through how our solutions can address their climate risk challenges.
  • Develop and implement a sales strategy tailored to the US financial services and real estate sectors, driving revenue growth.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers in banks, understanding their needs and providing tailored climate risk solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (climate scientists, risk analysts, and data scientists) to deliver high-value, data-driven solutions.
  • Deliver compelling product demos and presentations to potential clients, showcasing the unique features and value of Spectra.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements, ensuring alignment with company objectives and long-term client satisfaction.

What You Bring:

  • Background in banking, climate risk management, with a deep understanding of how banks and financial institutions assess and manage these risks.
  • Strong consultative selling approach, with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to communicate the value of complex data, including financial models and climate risk analytics.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to work closely with our CEO and founding team in New York full time and meet clients face-to-face regularly.

  • Experience closing complex deals and managing a multithreaded sales process.
