In this position, you will be responsible for implementing and coordinating manufacturing activities to achieve production, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. This role partners directly with manufacturing leadership to prioritize production schedules, align manpower and material availability, and optimize equipment utilization across assigned production areas.
Operating in a high-reliability satellite manufacturing environment, the Senior Production Analyst drives production readiness, schedule adherence, and operational efficiency. This position spans multiple production disciplines and supports both ongoing manufacturing execution and process optimization initiatives.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement production activities within assigned manufacturing area(s) to meet output, quality, and cost objectives.
- Prioritize production schedules based on product introduction timelines, equipment efficiency, and material supply constraints.
- Partner with manufacturing supervisors to ensure daily production targets are achieved.
- Monitor throughput, cycle time, and constraint points within production flow.
- Support execution of complex or unique production processes as required.
- Align material availability with production demand to minimize downtime and excess WIP.
- Coordinate closely with Supply Chain to resolve shortages and manage material flow.
- Evaluate equipment utilization and recommend adjustments to improve efficiency and throughput.
- Support capital equipment planning and production readiness initiatives as needed.
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules aligned to program and operational objectives.
- Adjust schedules based on real-time production conditions, material shortages, equipment downtime, or engineering changes.
- Develop manpower requirements for assigned production areas to ensure balanced workload and efficient labor utilization.
- Identify risks to schedule performance and implement mitigation strategies.
- Drive schedule discipline and production accountability across teams.
- Analyze manufacturing performance data to identify trends impacting quality, delivery, and cost.
- Monitor labor and material variance within assigned areas and support corrective actions.
- Develop production reports and dashboards for operational leadership.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce waste.
- Participate in root cause investigations related to production delays or quality escapes.
- Collaborate across Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to drive production success.
- Support new product introductions and transitions into manufacturing.
- Operate across multiple product lines, processes, or production disciplines as business needs evolve.
- Serve as a central coordination point between operational teams and leadership.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5-8 years with BS - Degree focus in in manufacturing operations, production control, or related environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production flow, and constraint management within a multi-stage production environment.
- Working knowledge of master scheduling, shop scheduling, dispatching principles, and production prioritization methodologies.
- Proficiency in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) concepts including demand planning, lead times, lot sizing, and capacity considerations.
- Understanding of manpower planning, labor allocation strategies, and capacity modeling.
- Experience analyzing manufacturing performance metrics including throughput, cycle time, schedule adherence, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), and WIP aging.
- Knowledge of cost drivers in manufacturing environments, including labor and material variance analysis.
- Familiarity with production control systems, manufacturing execution systems (MES), and ERP-based production tracking tools.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Costpoint, NetSuite, etc.)
- Manufacturing execution or shop floor control systems
- Proficiency with PLM systems and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)
