We are expanding our European presence and seeking a Systems Application Engineer to join our Munich team. This position bridges systems engineering, integration, and customer-facing support — ensuring successful validation, deployment, and performance of CesiumAstro’s communication systems in Europe.
The successful candidate will communicate effectively with team members and internal stakeholders, both verbally and through written content.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support integration, verification, and test activities for communication payloads and ground systems.
- Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and data analysis scripts for performance validation.
- Support early system definition and requirements management for programs.
- Represent CesiumAstro in technical discussions, reviews, and on-site demonstrations.
- Provide feedback from testing and customer activities to inform design and product development.
- Evaluate customer and operational needs to define requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces.
- Define and validate space system requirements and interfaces, ensuring end-to-end feasibility.
- Develop and direct technical concept development in support of proposals and demonstrations.
- Participate in developing system engineering processes for requirements management, flow-down, and traceability.
- Coordinate with RF/Antenna, Electrical, and Software/FPGA engineers to ensure concept feasibility and compliance.
- Support proposal development, design reviews, and technical documentation.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- M.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in system engineering for communications payloads, RF systems, or space/defense platforms.
- Hands-on experience with multidisciplinary hardware (electrical, mechanical, software integration).
- Proven ability to capture and manage requirements across multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills; comfortable presenting to customers
- Fluent in English
- Willingness to travel periodically to the U.S. for training and product familiarization.
