We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer II with experience in the design of the metal structures for various purposes, rocket transition bays, load-bearing frames for test benches. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CAD systems, CFD and FEA simulations, combined with hands-on experience in experimental development and testing of structures of various types. This role involves close collaboration with an international R&D team to optimize the design and performance of load structures of launch vehicles.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design of various elements and units used in the final product, such as gimbal suspensions of various designs, development of engine mounting units to power structures of bench and process equipment.
  • Design of CNC welding equipment for performing welding operations for manufacturing of the propellant tanks.
  • Design of motion drives for controlling the movement of the engine, calculation of necessary parameters such as speed of movement, created moments, strength characteristics of drive elements, etc..
  • Preparation of technical documentation, including specifications, technical conditions and drawings for various products, structures and mechanisms. Design and development of 3D models and drawings for manufacturing of the parts and components of mechanisms and prepare designs for manufacturing.
  • Participation in the development and testing of prototypes. Support of products at all stages of production.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, aerospace, and controls engineering.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum 4 years of industry experience in aerospace propulsion systems or similar.
  • Expertise in SolidWorks, Siemens NX or similar.
  • Proficiency in the creation of G-code machine code. Creation of G-code for 2D, 2.5D and 3D parts using the VisualCADCAM, SolidCAM software.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Prior experience with structures and mechanisms for liquid rocket engine and/or other rocket systems.
  • Hands-on experience in test bench setups and test article performance diagnostics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
