We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Production Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating personnel through daily tasks, interfacing with engineering on problem resolution, implementing and maintaining 5S practices, reporting on key metrics, and leading training and employee development initiatives. This role requires a proactive leader who can thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee and coordinate daily production activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Supervise and motivate production staff, providing clear direction and support.
- Collaborate closely with the engineering team to resolve production issues and implement process improvements.
- Lead the implementation and maintenance of 5S practices to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
- Track and report on key production metrics, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring targets are met.
- Develop and deliver training programs for production staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Identify and resolve production bottlenecks and quality issues, ensuring timely delivery of products.
- Ensure all production activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
- Responsible for ensuring and documenting that all department direct labor receive and follow appropriate training including Environmental, Health and Safety training.
- Integrate Lean techniques to identify inefficiencies, makes recommendations and support/follow through on process improvements.
- Prioritize production schedules based on customer commitments, available manpower, equipment efficiency, tool capacity and material requirements.
- Interface with area leadership and prioritize work based on production schedule and organizational goals.
- Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications and coordinate the disposition of non-conforming product.
- Aid in investigations and root-cause analysis of any non-conformances.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma required; Associate of Applied Science (AS) degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Manufacturing, or related preferred.
- A minimum of five years of relevant work experience with an Associate’s degree or six years with a High School Diploma.
- Experience in a production environment, preferably in a startup or fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Hands-on experience with 5S implementation and maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams.
- Proficiency in tracking and reporting production metrics.
- Comfortable with collaboration tools such as MS Teams, Confluence, and Jira.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Must be hands-on and resourceful, possess a strong work ethic, and be attentive to current and future customer requirements, both internal and external. The individual must have the intellect and team skills to work among capable, results-oriented peers.
- Strong digital, written, and verbal communication skills.
