We are looking to add an Electrical Engineer II, Harness Design to our team. If you enjoy working in a startup environment and are passionate about developing leading-edge hardware for satellites, spacecraft, and aerospace systems, we would like to hear from you.
In this position, you will be responsible for the design of wire harnesses, including schematic development, cable routing, connector selection, and harness assembly drawings. You will collaborate with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to define wire harness specifications and to support during wire harness assembly, installation, and troubleshooting processes. You will also participate in design reviews, providing technical expertise and recommendations to enhance the performance and reliability of wire harness systems.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- 2 years of relevant industry or university research experience.
- Proficiency in electrical design tools such as RapidHarness, Altium, etc.
- Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, wire routing, cable shielding, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) considerations.
- Ability to conduct thorough analysis and testing of wire harness designs to ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, safety regulations, and performance requirements.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to wire harness design, such as IPC-WHMA-A-620 and ISO 9001.
- Extensive hands-on experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and electronic loads.
- Detail-oriented approach with a high level of accuracy in design documentation and technical specifications.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Aerospace industry experience.
- Experience designing for space environments, including radiation and thermal effects.
- Experience with hardware development or test software development.
- Programming experience using Python, LabVIEW, SQL, MATLAB, or Embedded C.
- Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, etc.
