Why This Role Matters

Careem is on a mission to simplify lives and deliver exceptional experiences for our captains (drivers). We’re looking for a Product Manager (PM-II) to lead our Captain Platform and Payment Systems. In this role, you’ll work on high-impact areas such as:

  • Captain communication strategy, ping reliability, and core app functionalities
  • Multilingual support across different languages and dialects
  • Captain payment experience and transparency
  • Fraud detection and captain safety

Your work will ensure that captains earn fairly, operate efficiently, and feel supported—directly enabling the growth of all Careem verticals. You’ll collaborate with passionate cross-functional teams across engineering, design, analytics, and operations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Captain Experience Strategy - Define and lead the vision for core captain platform features, including payments, safety, and communication. Align stakeholders around a shared roadmap and measurable success criteria.
  2. Product Roadmap & Delivery - Own and execute the roadmap across key domains (platform, payments, safety/fraud). Drive initiatives from ideation through launch, ensuring speed, quality, and impact.
  3. Design for Captains - Be the champion of the captain experience. Understand their needs, local context, and challenges. Deliver intuitive, scalable solutions informed by research and direct feedback.
  4. Data-Driven Decision Making - Use data, insights, and trends to uncover opportunities. Design experiments, run A/B tests, and iterate rapidly to optimize outcomes.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with Engineering, Analytics, Design, Legal, and Operations. Balance trade-offs, align priorities, and ensure seamless execution across markets.

  • Increased Captain NPS through targeted improvements on top pain points
  • Higher satisfaction and clarity in captain earnings
  • Reduced fraud incidents and enhanced captain safety

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: 4–5 years in Product Management, preferably with mobile or digital products. Experience in payments or driver-facing platforms is highly desirable.
  • Industry Background: Experience in ride-hailing, quick commerce, food delivery, e-commerce, or B2C marketplaces is preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field. (MBA is a plus)
