About the team
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a People Operations Specialist in our Jordan market. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and developing the People Operations function, focusing on areas such as PRO activities, colleague advisory management, employment relations, onboarding, colleagues lifecycle journey, and the overall colleague experience in Jordan and EM markets. You will collaborate with a team of talented people experts located across Careem's global markets and verticals. The ideal candidate will have keen ideation abilities, negotiation skills, excellent adaptable communication skills at all levels, the ability to think on their feet and be an excellent team player. This role requires a well-organized, driven, and output-focused individual who can contribute to our growth model. The role is based in Amman with ad hoc travel to other offices if required.
What you'll do
- Support the EM market's People Operations activities, including colleague employment lifecycles, colleague advisory management, and process mapping.
- Maintain up to date and accurate records of Careem colleagues' information on our online systems and `shared drives.
- Maintain and update colleague data using multiple systems and workflows (Iqama, Passport, Saudi ID Cards, Driving License, etc).
- Ensure accurate and timely responses to medical insurance additions/deletions, colleague queries and documentation housing.
- Support with Social Insurance activities and system requirements, clearing data requirements for all offboarded colleagues in a timely manner.
- Prepare and execute colleague formal letters as and when required, proactively ensuring documentation is stored and accurately named.
- Ensure forms required by the Government are completed and filed in a timely manner on the appropriate portal.Identify and propose improvement practices for colleague experiences across the business
- Ensure open communication and clarity on workflows between the market covered and your line manager on a regular basis.
- Proactively contribute to the logistics of EMs onboarding cohort management by working closely with your line manager and the wider People team to ensure all new joiners have a seamless onboarding experience in EMs.
- Collaborate with COE’s (center of expertise) to ensure we have the best systems, processes, policies and interventions in place for the colleague life cycle at Careem.
- Manage colleague expectations by communicating project and/or query status and issues; resolving concerns; analyzing time and cost issues and ensuring timelines or blockers are communicated.
- Good working knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational development, employee relations, and employment driven workflows.
- Champion and advocate policy inclusion across all colleagues, advising support and process requirements.
- Advising team of gaps or areas for further development. Work closely alongside your line manager to enhance performance and productivity of the team's core functions, their inclusive nature, team visibility and management.
- Ensure effective compliance with international legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation changes; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising your line manager on needed actions.
- Strong storyteller with the ability to effectively embed Careem’s shared values across the wider business, reinforcing this throughout the full recruitment and colleague lifecycle

Requirements
- 3+ years experience within a People team environment, managing PRO and Government relations.
- Bachelor’s degree or experience equivalent.
- Natural flair for supporting stakeholders and ability to remain calm in high pressure situations.
- Previous experience in a fast paced, output focussed and matrixed organization (remote or dispersed working teams experience will be advantageous)
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and a track record of following through on commitments.
- Understanding of employment life cycles.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Experience working with Oracle, Greenhouse and/or Enboarder will be advantageous.
- Must be driven, ambitious and not afraid to speak up to meet a heavy change agenda.
- Must be fluent in both Arabic and English (written and spoken, mandatory requirement).
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or experience equivalent.
- CIPD certification (any level) would be advantageous.
