As we continue to grow and scale, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of IoT Engineering to lead our ambitious engineering initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving the next wave of innovation in telematics technology, leading a team of talented engineers in designing, developing, and deploying IoT solutions that make a real difference in the world. An example of our positive impact is the 34 million DriveWell® Tags we have shipped to date to improve driver safety worldwide, with many enhancements and new products at various stages of conception and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the engineering and execution of cutting-edge IoT products, ensuring that they align with our mission and business goals
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, initiative, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, business development, sales, and customer success to deliver seamless, scalable solutions that exceed customer expectations and delight users
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends and technological advancements, identifying opportunities for innovation and competitive differentiation
  • Drive operational excellence, ensuring the highest standards of quality, reliability, ease-of-use, and security in our engineering practices and products
  • Complete any additional tasks as they arise

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, electrical engineering, or related fields, with expertise in embedded systems (software and hardware), or equivalent experience or certification
  • A strategic thinker with a strong technical background in IoT engineering, preferably with experience in consumer-oriented IoT systems or telematics
  • 15+ years of relevant industry experience including 5+ years in a similar leadership role
  • Interest in guiding products for usability, physical design, and interaction with the ecosystem
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mobilize teams towards achieving shared goals
  • Exceptional collaborative problem-solving abilities with a track record of driving complex projects from concept to completion while taking calculated risks
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working superbly with stakeholders at all levels
