Senior Tax Associate
We’re looking for a Senior Tax Associate to take ownership of indirect tax compliance across multiple countries, ensuring accurate filings, improving processes, and driving automation within Bolt’s growing Tax function.Location: Tallinn, Estonia
About the role
As a Senior Tax Associate, you will manage end-to-end indirect tax compliance, optimise processes, and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate tax setup while minimising indirect tax impact and maintaining full compliance.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Prepare and submit indirect tax returns (VAT, ESL, Intrastat) accurately and on time, ensuring adherence to compliance calendars.
Ensure full compliance with VAT, customs, and other indirect tax regulations across assigned countries.
Drive process improvements and automation, including reconciliations, ERP optimisation, and reduction of manual work.
Manage tax-related financial activities, including journal entries, payments, reimbursements, and VAT cash flow forecasting.
Partner with Finance, IT, and Operations to ensure correct tax setup, system logic, and stakeholder understanding of indirect tax processes.
About you:
You bring experience in tax or accounting, including exposure to indirect tax in complex environments.
You have strong knowledge of tax accounting and financial statement disclosures.
You communicate complex tax topics clearly and effectively to non-experts across the business.
You are able to research, interpret, and explain technical tax matters while working cross-functionally with stakeholders and senior teams.
You have knowledge of indirect tax laws and a strong willingness to learn and stay up to date.
You take a hands-on, proactive approach and thrive in a collaborative, team-based environment with strong English communication skills.
