Bolt engineering teams are working on unique product challenges – complex algorithms for demand prediction, optimal real-time pricing, routing, fraud detection, distributed systems, and much more. Volumes are constantly growing.

Our reliability teams are dealing with a range of different challenges, from managing our services that keep Bolt backend services running to optimizing our cloud infrastructure.

The SREC (SRE Cloud) team is responsible for Bolt’s cloud governance and operations.

About Us

With over 200 million customers in 50+ countries, Bolt is one of the fastest-growing tech companies in Europe and Africa. And it's all thanks to our people.

We believe in creating an inclusive environment where everyone is welcome, regardless of race, colour, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or disability.

Our ultimate goal is to make cities for people, not cars, and we need your help to achieve this mission!

About The Role

Our Site Reliability Engineers in the Cloud team are working to ensure we build robust Cloud solutions, be it by automating how we as a company utilise different cloud providers or what parts we can optimise to bring more bang for the buck. Our daily tasks vary from automating AWS IAM credential creations to building out full scale PCI solutions and everything in between. Technologies that you will deal with in the SRE Cloud team would be the following, but not limited to: AWS IAM, S3, Security Center, Tower, etc.; GCP; Terraform, Ansible, Atlantis; CloudFlare and its ZeroTrust; and many more.

Your daily adventures will include:

  • Overseeing and implementing Bolt’s global cloud solutions, from IAM to S2S VPN GW’s, enabling Bolt’s geo expansion efforts with cloud solutions and much more.
  • Making sure that none of our cloud implementations are done via click-ops, and automation is a word that makes your heart beat faster (IaC; Terraform/Ansible).
  • On-call isn’t just a mobile-enabled-troublemaker for you, but your calling (pun intended).
  • You know the ins and outs of AWS, but other cloud providers do not intimidate you.
  • Learning new technologies does excite you and you have a proven track record for it.
  • Collaborating with other Reliability and Software Development Engineers.

About you:

  • You have good knowledge when it comes to different clouds, may it be AWS, Azure or GCP.
  • In your previous roles, you have dabbled with networks, especially cloud based ones, hardware networks would be considered a plus.
  • Learning new things isn’t something you would consider as a chore but rather as a part of work.
  • You have created numerous files that have ended with .tf and have a working knowledge of how Terraform itself works.
  • Global scale is a keyword that makes you excited, understanding that small increments can cause significant impact.
  • You are a team player, with good communication skills, that works well with others in the group and the rest of the organization.

Experience is great, but what we really look for is drive, intelligence, and integrity. So even if you don’t tick every box, please consider applying!
