We are looking for an entrepreneurial and solutions-driven Operations Manager with strong experience in operations management, fleet management, retail/distribution, and field operations to take ownership of our Tanzania ride-hailing operations.

About The Role
Your role will have a direct and tangible impact through continuous improvement of the driver and rider experience by strengthening Bolt's value proposition in the marketplace through achieving industry-leading fleet performance, operational efficiency, and field execution. You will be involved in the definition and implementation of the strategy of the Tanzanian market and play a key role in managing daily operations, fleets, and logistics execution on the ground.

Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Designing and executing strategies to optimize daily operations, fleet performance, and supply chain activities to ensure service reliability and availability.
- Managing retail and distribution-style driver and fleet acquisition funnels, ensuring supply growth and engagement through both online and offline channels.
- Leading and supporting field operations teams to ensure smooth, high-quality service delivery in Dar es Salaam and other Tanzanian cities.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key partners including drivers, fleet owners, unions, regulators, and local authorities.
- Monitoring and improving operational KPIs including fleet utilization, uptime, onboarding efficiency, and service quality.
- Collaborating with HQ teams to adapt and implement global initiatives and processes in the local context.
- Identifying local market trends, operational risks, and improvement opportunities to inform data-driven decisions and strategy.
About you:
- You have 5 -7+ years of experience in operations management, fleet/logistics, distribution, or field-based business roles.
- You have strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to drive field performance and operational outcomes.
- You are a problem-solver with a hands-on approach and experience managing distributed teams and vendors.
- You are highly analytical and have a data-driven mindset with excellent Excel skills.
- You have a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or other relevant fields.
- You are fluent in English and Swahili and have excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience in transportation, mobility, or retail distribution is an added advantage.
