We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager, Global Payroll to lead the strategy, transformation, and continuous improvement of our end-to-end global payroll delivery.

About Us

With over 200 million customers in 50+ countries, Bolt is one of the fastest-growing tech companies in Europe and Africa. And it's all thanks to our people.

We believe in creating an inclusive environment where everyone is welcome, regardless of race, colour, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or disability.

Our ultimate goal is to make cities for people, not cars, and we need your help to achieve this mission!

About The Role

As a Senior Manager, Global Payroll, you will be responsible for the strategy, transformation, and continuous improvement of the end-to-end delivery of global payroll services.

You will manage payroll vendors and third-party relationships with a strong focus on risk, controls, and global compliance. You'll oversee payroll operations across 55+ countries, define and track KPIs/SLAs, and be a key member of the People Operations leadership team — ensuring alignment with company-wide goals and governance standards.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Own and manage end-to-end global payroll delivery, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with local regulations and company policies.
  • Review, approve, and oversee payroll results, including processing of new hires, terminations, variable inputs, and payments.
  • Act as a point of escalation for complex payroll queries, and lead issue resolution within SLA timeframes.
  • Monitor KPIs, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement across payroll processes, systems, and reporting.
  • Provide expert knowledge on country-specific legislation (e.g. tax, social security, labour laws) and support internal/external audits.
  • Lead and mentor payroll team members, supporting their professional development and ensuring high performance.

About you:

  • You bring deep expertise in global payroll, including gross-to-net calculations and compliance across multiple countries.
  • You have hands-on experience with pre/post-tax deductions, fringe benefits, equity, and payroll impacts.
  • You are comfortable working with third-party providers like Papaya, or similar platforms.
  • You have excellent stakeholder management skills and work well in complex, international environments.
  • You are fluent in English — additional languages such as German or Polish are a plus.
  • You have experience with Workday or similar HRIS/payroll systems.

Experience is great, but what we really look for is drive, intelligence, and integrity. So even if you don’t tick every box, please consider applying!

Why you’ll love it here:

  • Play a direct role in shaping the future of mobility.
  • Impact millions of customers and partners in 600+ cities across 50+ countries.
  • Work in fast-moving autonomous teams with some of the smartest people in the world.
  • Accelerate your professional growth with unique career opportunities.
  • Get a rewarding salary and stock option package that lets you focus on doing your best work.
  • Enjoy the flexibility of working in a hybrid mode with a minimum of 2 days in the office each week to foster strong connections and teamwork.
  • Take care of your physical and mental health with our wellness perks.
  • Some perks may differ depending on your location and role.
