About The Role

We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our Regional Legal Team, based in Bucharest and reporting to the Legal Director for Central and Eastern Europe. The team supports Bolt’s global operations and product verticals such as Ride-Hailing, Micromobility, Delivery, Bolt Market, Bolt Drive, and Bolt Business. Working closely with business stakeholders, product counsels and other sub-teams, the Regional Legal Team ensures legal compliance across all markets while advising on potential risks and liabilities to enable informed business decisions.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day legal support to Bolt’s businesses while ensuring compliance of products, features, and initiatives with applicable laws.
• Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Tax, Privacy, and Policy, to address legal challenges and advance business objectives.
• Draft, review and manage a wide range of commercial agreements, terms of use, and consumer-facing resources, while also conducting risk assessments and offering proactive legal guidance to support evolving business strategies.
• Build and improve legal processes, templates, playbooks, and self-service tools, leveraging AI and the latest legal technologies.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments. Manage external counsel and legal budgets effectively.
• Handle complex legal issues with autonomy, demonstrating sound judgment and strong business acumen, and the ability to support strategic decision-making.
  
  
  

About you:

• You will have a law degree and 7–10 years of legal experience, ideally from a top law firm and/or in-house at an international company; experience in fast-growing or tech environments is a plus.
• You are fluent in Romanian and English, with excellent legal drafting and communication skills.
• You have a strong background in contract and commercial law, consumer protection, regulatory matters and legal frameworks relevant to the gig economy.
• You have familiarity with AI and legal tech tools to streamline legal work and drive efficiency.
• You are a proactive, analytical mindset with attention to detail and a pragmatic, business-oriented approach to problem-solving.
• You can work independently, manage complexity, drive matters forward with a focus on outcomes and build trusted relationships across teams and cultures.
