We’re looking for an analytical and solutions-driven Courier Operations Manager with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to lead the Courier Function of Bolt Food Kenya. This is a highly strategic and execution-heavy role where you will manage the performance of our courier network, scale operations to new cities, and build a lean, high-performing team that delivers operational excellence on the ground. You’ll work closely with the Country Manager and various local and global stakeholders to shape the future of Bolt Food’s last-mile logistics in Kenya.

About The Role
You will be the owner of courier operations end-to-end — from process design to team development, execution, and performance management. You’ll start by managing a highly technical Courier Operations Specialist and gradually expand the team by identifying skill gaps and hiring accordingly. We’re seeking someone who can seamlessly switch between deep analytical problem-solving and on-the-ground leadership. You must be comfortable speaking with couriers, analysing their performance data, and building robust supply models to improve efficiency and earnings.
Expected travel across Kenya to key operational zones will be required — you should be excited to spend time with couriers in the field, not just behind a laptop.

Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Launch, manage, and scale courier operations across multiple cities.
- Hire, coach, and lead the courier operations team, beginning with a technical specialist.
- Build and optimise scalable operational processes.
- Monitor and enhance courier KPIS, such as delivery time, online hours, and hourly earnings.
- Develop operational and financial models to drive efficiency and reduce CPO.
- Collaborate with local and headquarters teams to implement initiatives
- You have a degree in Finance, Business, or Engineering.
- You have 6+ years of experience, ideally in both corporate (e.g., banking) and startup environments.
- You have strong team management and leadership abilities.
- You are proficient in advanced Excel/Sheets modelling; SQL is a plus.
- You have a hands-on, field-driven approach with couriers.
- You have strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
