We are looking for a Regional General Manager to lead our Bolt Ride Hailing Operations in our South East Asia markets currently comprising Thailand and four other South East Asia markets currently in the launch phase. The role’s scope in the initial phases will also cover our current operations in Paraguay

You will be responsible for leading the region, developing and nurturing critical stakeholder relationships that will grow our business, strengthening our market position, staff management, engagement and retention.

This strategic role will coordinate with and report to the Regional Director for Africa & International Markets.

The role will initially have two direct reports, country managers for Thailand and Paraguay; with further expansion of the direct reports to include country managers in fully launched South East Asia markets. This is a critical, impactful and highly rewarding role. The region is one of our fastest growing regions and poised to be a significant contributor to global revenues.

Your daily adventures will include:

  • Strategy - Leading the region’s strategic and annual business planning process and being responsible for its implementation as well as identifying trends, risks and improvement opportunities on a regional level that may impact the business with plans to leverage on the opportunities / mitigate the risks.
  • Operations - Oversee regional local operations and finances to make sure we are creating the highest possible impact with our investments and maintaining operational efficiency, as well as design regional expansion strategies for ride-hailing services and features.
  • P&L Management - Oversee regional P&L delivery against set KPIs.
  • People Leadership - Leading and developing teams with excellent strategic thinking, knowledge, team spirit and professional skills, building high-performing teams with solid succession planning in the region, always striving to become a better leader for their team while promoting Bolt’s Culture.
  • Stakeholder Management - Advise and closely collaborate with HQ teams such as Product, Legal or Marketing to develop and execute key initiatives that drive growth and efficiency, advocating and elevating Bolt’s brand, product and service by working closely with regional authorities and policymakers.
  • Public Relations & Government Relationships (GR) - be the face and voice of Bolt within the region. Take an active part in the definition and the implementation of Bolt’s GR strategy in the region.
  • Business Development - assist the Corporate Development Team in identifying strategic deals possibilities. Once the deal is complete, operationalise the deal through the local operations team.


About you:

  • You have 7+ years of experience in operations management or general management, ideally in a sharing economy, tech business, transport industry, startup or dynamic high-growth company.
  • You have prior P&L management experience
  • You have prior commercial operations experience, part of which was in a lead managerial role..
  • You have a proven track record of delivering results in a regional, cross-functional, high-growth, and fast-paced environment.
  • You are a strong leader and collaborator with excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • You have experience building relationships with leaders & peers, anticipating their concerns and successfully advocating for your priorities.
  • You are a hustler, not stopping after several obstacles a day.
  • You are highly analytical and have a data-driven mindset with experience reporting on business metrics, trends and using data to drive decision-making.
  • You are passionate about new technologies and ridesharing.
  • You have a strong sense of ownership with a hands-on approach.
  • Having experience in running regional businesses / multi-country markets and handling senior multiple functional stakeholders, is an advantage.
