This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.This role is part of New Glenn Avionics Hardware Solutions Team, supporting Blue Origin’s mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. The team fosters innovation and drives engineering workflows for the future.
Provides hands-on support to Engineering/Production/Manufacturing by performing activities such as test, Calibration, and assembly of electro/mechanical systems. Applications may include electronic circuits, power distribution, life/vehicle and critical safety systems. Work is performed from schematics, diagrams, written descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and trouble-shooting functions. Perform operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment.
As part of a hardworking team of technicians, you will assemble, repair, and evaluate electrical harness assemblies for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all production, evaluation, and development of light-grade Avionics Harnessing and electrical systems. Work in the Avionics Harness Lab requires a high level of proficiency in the technical aspects of the work such as measuring and layout, terminating a variety of electrical connections on mechanical assemblies and performing various assembly soldering operations. Once complete you will perform different verification tests to ensure we produce the highest quality product.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Building a variety of different harnesses and often managing changing priorities from project to project, requiring mental flexibility.
Building a variety of electrical assemblies including test equipment, harnesses and often managing changing priorities from project to project, requiring mental flexibility.
Often assisting with new designs; working directly with engineering to determine standard processes and to vet new designs for improvement opportunities prior to production.
Provide calibration support and records for equipment.
Develop a DB of calibrated assets and a system to track and maintain them.
Serve internal and external customers, across multiple systems and multiple platforms. Each Technician is a valued part of the chain that supports safe, affordable, and regular human spaceflight.

Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years’ experience with Calibration and operating calibration labs
2+ years of related experience in a lab or production environment
Experience working with a cross functional team across organizational boundaries
Excellent computer skills with MS Office suite (particularly MS Excel)
Solid understanding of the purpose and process of calibration
Outstanding written/verbal communications skills
Strong organizational skills and finely tuned attention to detail
Ability to execute complex planning and scheduling
Preferred Qualifications:
6+ years’ experience in avionics or electronics development and electronics testing.
4+ years’ fabricating, inspecting, and repairing wire harness assemblies.
4+ years’ experience with standard harnessing tools as well as measuring and layout of assembly. Experience with wire stripping, crimping, and splicing using either manual or automated processes.
4+ years’ experience with using testing/trouble shooting tools such as a digital multi-meter.
Compensation Range for:
WA applicants is $36.60 - $51.23Other site ranges may differ

Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
