This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a diverse and hardworking team of inventory specialists, technicians, and engineers you will coordinate and track component transactions supporting New Shepard Maintenance and Launch Operations. In this role, you will ensure readiness of work execution by verifying Bill of Material (BOM) accuracy, identifying shortages, and coordinating internal part transfers in time to support operations, and ensuring components with the proper pedigree are installed on New Shepard Launch vehicles. Attention to detail and agility is critical to succeeding in this role. You will also need to collaborate with cross-functional teams in order to problem solve and recover schedule when met with constraints. Specialists in this role are expected to maintain regularly provide status to program leadership, immediately identify schedule risks for timely resolution, and create action plans to push critical path hardware forward.

Responsibilities:

  • Transact parts between projects, ensuring correct accounting codes are utilized for accurate budget keeping and inventory traceability.

  • Advanced planning of part transfers and oversight of work order kitting to support scheduled operations of launch vehicle refurbishment operations.

  • Perform BOM reconciliation activities upon work completion, verifying installed part quantities, and electronically recording traceability data.

  • Manage work orders released to the site per MRP action messages and program schedule needs.

  • Support work orders from creation to completion, ensuring work orders remain active and blocks are addressed in a timely manner to keep schedule.

  • Coordinate with area leads, technicians, quality and inventory teams, and maintenance engineers on a regular basis to work through nonconforming products, engineering changes, and other unplanned events.

  • Request and coordinate resource needs with area leads as need to ensure on-time delivery of hardware.

  • Track and drive shortages by coordinating with all supporting areas, such as material planners, procurement, receiving inspection, and other work centers.

  • Communicate potential schedule risks and advance to appropriate parties as needed.

  • Provide transactional support in the accounting and manufacturing execution systems to collect as-built reconciliation, project transfers, inventory adjustments, and scrap transactions.

  • Coordinate with Inventory Team to ensure steady, timely movement of critical hardware.

  • Refine Item Master planning parameter values to ensure efficiencies throughout the manufacturing process and product lifecycles.

  • Collaborate across work centers and Production Control team as needed to resolve capacity constraints.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Supply Chain and Program Management, including procurement, planning, BOM structures, and material estimating.

  • Experience working with engineering, design, and project management to deliver products/services.

  • Proven problem-solving skills; able to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.

  • Excellent analytical skills, proficient at establishing and tracking program metrics to drive decisions.

  • Experience operating in ambiguous environments and establishing scalable processes.

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Skilled at communicating complex ideas, anticipating objections, and persuading senior stakeholders and leadership.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

  • Experienced with using inventory and MRP/ERP systems.

  • Experience in both development and production environments.
