As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of technical learning professionals, you deliver instructions and lead classroom training, you will use technology and graphical tools to design and create learner-centric, performance-based instructional materials. You will work with a variety of subject matter experts to create and update formal online courses for highly technical subjects. This position will support management of technical training skills loaded in the Learning Management System (LMS) including input and scheduling of technical skills training courses. You should be comfortable collaborating in a fast-paced and often uncertain environment, contributing to innovative solutions, while demonstrating leadership, technical competence, and attention to detail. This role reports to the Manager of Technical Training at Blue Origin. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities:

  • Deploy manufacturing, assembly, and test technical courses to meet company needs which may include, conducting workforce research and needs analysis, and capturing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) knowledge. The subject courses will include Blueprint Reading, ESD/EPA, Structural Assembly, Tubing Installation, Adhesive Bonding, Torque, Lockwire, Electrical Bond, Alodine Application, Precision Measurement, Harness Install, Crane, etc.
  • Develop specialty courses of instruction for identified needs, working with a wide variety of individuals while researching courses.
  • Standardize training elements across multiple work centers and geographic sites.
  • Conduct technical training in classroom and laboratory environments, including giving practical tests.
  • Document and track employees’ training attendance and recurring training needs.
  • Maintain training forecasting capabilities including “soon due” reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of professional experience in delivering classroom technical training with hands-on demonstration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, with a very strong employee focus
  • Ability to self-manage activities based on given priorities
  • Experience with MS Office
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Aerospace or related industry experience
  • Experience developing technical training courseware
  • Familiarity with NASA Workmanship standards, IPC J-STD, ISO-ASTM standards
  • Experience with adult learning, course design, and class evaluation
  • Experience in virtual classroom, mobile, and other learning solutions
  • Experience in Instructor led technical skills or safety course delivery
  • Airframe and/or Powerplant license


Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $73,800.00-$103,320.00

Other site ranges may differ
