This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to Earth’s orbit and beyond. Engineered with a reusable first stage and a seven-meter payload fairing, New Glenn is building the road to space.
This role will work across vehicle stages and subsystems, and will support integrated solutions to achieve our vision of “millions of people living and working in space.” In this role, you will utilize and develop system engineering processes, ensure consistent and high-quality implementation across the program, and serve in a systems integration capacity working with multidisciplinary teams to create technical solutions. You will also support the development, allocation, verification of requirements at all levels of the program using tools like DOORS Next Gen, system lifecycle configuration management tools, and other functional analysis tools.
Additionally, this role requires deep understanding of requirements validation and traceability, functional analysis, architecture definition, safety analysis, technical performance monitoring, strategies, and approaches to specialty engineering (operability, reliability, maintainability, supportability, producibility), and other system/product lifecycle processes. You will also support the alignment and consistent implementation of New Glenn engineering practices for systems across the program. You will also help develop health metrics to provide insight into program health relative to major milestones and participate in program gated reviews.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering or another technical field
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience with system engineering principles and practices
- Experience in at least one of the following areas of analysis, design, or integrated testing
- Experience in at least one of the following: mechanical, fluids, thermal, propulsion, avionics, electrical hardware, telemetry/communications, structural, ground operations or flight/ground autonomy
- Possess strong skills in strategic system thinking, clear and effective communication, and proactive approaches to achieve timely decisions
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Preferred Qualifications:
- System development/integration experience, preferably with aerospace hardware
- Knowledge of current systems engineering/integration tools and methodologies
- Experience with systems engineering tools such as DOORS Next Gen
- Experience in reliability, maintainability and operability analysis and execution
- Launch vehicle development experience
Compensation Range for:
CO applicants is $110,055.00-$154,077.00;WA applicants is $120,060.00-$168,084.00Other site ranges may differ
