As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will be responsible for developing and facilitating operational maintenance for various test stand facilities. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of operating and maintaining ground systems and facilities. This role is a combination of maintenance procedure development, task planning and preparation, and issue resolution for the ground systems at Launch Site One.

You will “own” work orders for their full life cycle, requiring you to be skilled at drafting detailed work instructions for complex work, ensuring readiness to execute, answering questions during execution, and ensuring that work orders are appropriately closed out and documented. You will also collaborate with engineers of all disciplines as you support execution of engineering changes and anomaly resolution.

You will be the “go to” resource for assessing questions in executing the most complex work on the ground systems at Launch Site One. You will build strong working relationships with dozens of engineers and technicians. Your ability to rapidly prioritize in a time-critical environment will be critical to mission success. You will be expected to gain and maintain proficiency with basic test stand console operations and support ground system testing as needed.

This position is located in Van Horn, TX – working either a rotational schedule (8 days on - 6 days off) or regular M-F.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact Rocket Engine Testing. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Qualifications:

  • B.S degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering or other relevant field.

  • 3+ years working in a manufacturing or operational environment.

  • 3+ years of demonstrated technical expertise in the operation or maintenance of aerospace, marine, automotive, or ground support systems in one or more of the following disciplines: propulsion, pneumatics, cryogenics, avionics, hydraulics, life support, test engineering, launch operations and configuration management.

  • Previous experience with pumps

  • Unwavering commitment to “doing every job right”, no matter how small

  • Strong planning, organization, and coordination skills in a real-time operations environment

  • Strong written, personal, and computer skills. Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at the executive leadership level and on the shop floor.

  • A proven track record of working successfully in multiple disciplines.

  • Excellent computer skills with the ability to use a variety of management and planning software tools, including the ability to rapidly learn new software tools as required.

  • Experience using Windchill, Maximo, AutoCad.

  • Ability to support occasional off shift work schedules.

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma processes and implementation.

  • Familiarity with typical aerospace pressure systems and structure manufacturing technologies.
