As part of a diverse and hardworking team of integration engineers and aerospace technicians you will support the development, construction, operation, and maintenance of liquid rocket engine test facilities for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of liquid rocket engine testing from test facility construction to operation and maintenance, reporting to the test stand integration engineering supervisor. You will demonstrate operational excellence in test stand procedure execution, reviewing, improving, and following test procedures and processes. Working with engineers on planning and executing assembly for complex fluid and mechanical systems, you will fabricate and route pressurization and propellant tubing and perform rocket engine test article integration and checkouts. We will rely on you to lead troubleshooting and maintenance of fluid components and fluid systems and ground support equipment. You will safely work with hazardous chemicals and high pressure fluid systems. Finally, you will identify opportunities for continuous improvements to promote workplace safety, achieve cost-savings, and make test stand operations more streamlined and consistent.

Responsibilities:
- Test facility construction, operation and maintenance
- Fabrication (tube bending) and routing of pressurization and propellant tubing
- Installation and checkout of wire harnesses and instrumentation
- Test article integration and system test checkout
- Reviewing, editing and following test procedures
- Operation of test facility
- General troubleshooting of instrumentation, valves, leaks, etc.
- Working with engineers on design concepts/improvements and test development
- Planning and communicating assembly steps for complex mechanical installations
- Providing design feedback on Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and test article(s)
- Safely working with hazardous chemicals and high pressure systems
- Understanding of 5S and FOD control procedures
Qualifications:
- 5+ years in rocket engine or jet engine testing, or rocket engine test facility support
- Ability to work with standard mechanical tools and shop fabrication equipment
- Experience with pneumatic and propellant systems
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.; work in adverse weather conditions; climb stairs and ladders
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired:
- 7+ years’ experience in propulsion facility/system or launch vehicle operation, integration or maintenance
- Working knowledge of a variety of rocket propellants, including Liquid Oxygen, Liquid Hydrogen, and other cryogenics
- Familiar with tube fabrication (bend, flare, fittings, etc.) and pressurized system safety
- Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware
