The Corporate Development team is responsible for generating, managing, and executing mergers and acquisitions, minority investments, and partnership activities. As part of a small team responsible for originating, executing, and supporting acquisitions, you'll work to elevate Blue Origin’s worldwide deal-making profile.

You will work closely with the New Shepard, New Glenn, Blue Engines, and Advanced Development Programs business units to identify inorganic growth opportunities. You will support the Director of Corporate Development and senior leadership team by conducting industry research, investment analysis, due diligence, acquisition term sheets and contract negotiations, and both internal and external relationship building. In this role, you will be an entrepreneurial thinker who can make convincing, information-based arguments, demonstrating a strong bias for action.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business units to evaluate and drive internal thinking on inorganic growth opportunities
  • Identify opportunities that support Blue Origin’s strategic priorities through interaction with senior business leaders, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, investment bankers, and organic pipeline generation
  • Support deal flow process from term sheet signature to integration Support long-term financial and strategic planning process
  • Act as a subject matter authority on financial analysis, deal structuring, and valuation
  • Support pre-transaction due diligence efforts
  • Evaluate opportunities and risks in potential transactions
  • Build and maintain tools, analytics, and reporting to highlight performance measurements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related analytical field
  • 3+ years of demonstrated ability in investment banking, corporate development, strategy, finance, or consulting
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • MBA from a top-tier business school
  • Experience in the space industry or another capital-intensive, manufacturing, or R&D oriented industry
  • Entrepreneurship or early-stage start-up experience

Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $115,920-170,016

Employee Benefits include: Medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave (must be employed at time of birth or adoption), short and long-term disability, 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%, and an Education Support Program available after 1 year of service.

Paid Time Off: Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays for all regular employees (including part-time), fixed-term, and interns.

Discretionary bonus: Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay. Bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
