Head of Strategic Finance and Platform Economics
Biggeo
BigGeo is the Spatial Cloud.
We help companies manage and access the world’s spatial data, any size, any slice, any insight, delivered in seconds.
We’re building foundational infrastructure for how spatial data is managed, accessed, and used across organizations, systems, and AI. As the platform scales, understanding how it behaves economically becomes critical. Product mechanics, marketplace participation, customer consumption patterns, and partner economics all shape how value is created across the system.
This role exists to model those dynamics and turn them into strategic financial intelligence for the company.
What this role actually is
This is not accounting operations or reporting. It is the financial interpretation of how the Spatial Cloud works.
The Head of Strategic Finance and Platform Economics connects product pricing, marketplace activity, customer usage behavior, and partner economics directly to forecasting, revenue strategy, and capital planning. You translate platform behavior into financial clarity so leadership can make decisions grounded in how the system actually functions.
What you’ll own
You will design and operate the financial intelligence layer for the Spatial Cloud. That includes platform-level revenue models, forecasting frameworks tied to product behavior, consumption-based modeling, marketplace and partner economics, pricing simulations, and unit economics visibility across the platform.
Your work ensures the company understands how revenue is generated across the system, how usage translates into outcomes, how ecosystem participation influences growth, and how platform mechanics shape long-term economic potential.
What you’ll do
• Build and maintain financial and econometric models that explain how the platform generates revenue across credits, compute, storage, marketplace activity, and product layers.
• Develop forward-looking revenue capacity models grounded in market conditions, buyer behavior, supply dynamics, and adoption curves.
• Partner with product and platform leadership to evaluate monetization strategy, pricing structure, elasticity, and credit system design.
• Model and evaluate marketplace and data partner economics including revenue contribution, liquidity, and marginal supply value.
• Integrate financial models with operational telemetry and product data to create a continuous feedback loop between platform activity and financial insight.
• Support leadership decision-making through structured financial analysis tied to product initiatives, partnerships, capital allocation, and long-term strategy.
What you bring
• 5+ years in strategic finance, platform economics, consulting, or data-driven FP&A in technology environments.
• Advanced financial modeling capability and expert-level Google Sheets fluency for large multi-variable models.
• Strong statistical reasoning with experience applying econometric thinking to real-world systems.
• Hands-on experience modeling SaaS, marketplace, platform, or usage-based revenue models.
• Ability to translate complex operational systems into clear financial frameworks.
• Comfort working across large datasets and extracting structured insight.
• Clear communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership.
• Backgrounds that tend to fit well include consulting, actuarial or risk modeling, investment analysis, venture, private equity, or strategic finance roles inside product-led tech companies.
Nice to have
• Experience working in marketplaces, infrastructure platforms, or data ecosystems.
• Exposure to credit-based billing or usage-driven monetization systems.
• Academic grounding in economics, econometrics, or applied quantitative analysis.
• Experience in high-growth startup environments.
• Familiarity with geospatial, cloud infrastructure, or data platforms.
How this role fits BigGeo
The Spatial Cloud is not just technical infrastructure. It is a living economic system made up of data providers, developers, enterprises, and AI systems interacting through pricing models, marketplace dynamics, and consumption behavior.
This role ensures BigGeo understands how that system behaves financially. By modeling platform economics and connecting operational behavior to strategy, you help the company make better monetization decisions, forecast growth accurately, evaluate ecosystem expansion, and allocate capital effectively.
Tools and environment
You’ll work across financial modeling environments and operational platform data using tools like Google Sheets, Python, SQL, BI systems, product analytics tooling, and internal collaboration platforms including Slack, Google Workspace, and Monday.
If you want to shape how a category-defining platform thinks about its economics, this is that seat.
