Position Overview
This role sits at the beating heart of the company. The Finance and Operations Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the company's financial planning and analysis, accounts payable and receivable processes, business operations, and HR functions. This position requires a process oriented analyst with experience across HR, Operations and Finance related tasks. The individual has the ability to context shift in support of executive management daily and weekly objectives. You’ll work directly with our Chief Operating Officer who oversees various functions and you’ll be their dedicated lead for Finance, Operations and HR. As a VC backed company you will also be tasked to assist with financial modeling and reporting alongside our outsourced finance and accounting contractors.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis
Support and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets alongside COO and outsourced FP&A contractor
Perform variance analysis and provide insights to C-Suite
Create and present financial reports and KPIs on a bi-weekly basis
Own end of month financial closing in conjunction with accounting and finance contractors
Support fundraising activities with financial data and projections
Financial Operations
Responsible for employee payroll, sales commissions and bonuses
Manage accounts payable process, ensuring timely payment to contractors
Oversee accounts receivable, including client invoicing and collections
Maintain accurate financial records and legal documentation across Customer, Partner, Consultant agreements
Monitor cash flow and banking operations
Implement financial controls and processes to ensure accuracy and compliance
Collaborate with external accountants on financial reporting and tax matters
HR & Operational Support
Assist with HR functions including employee onboarding
Maintain state employee and employer tax compliance
Manage recruiting operations in tandem with hiring teams
Help implement and maintain operational best practices across G&A software and processes
Contribute to SOC 2 Type 2 compliance efforts in partnership with CTO and COO
Support info-sec reviews and vendor management onboarding for new business alongside Customer Success and DevOps
Qualifications
Required
5 years of experience in finance role, specifically within startup environments
Strong background in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
Exceptional proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets
Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoicing processes
Understanding of enterprise procurement processes and vendor management portals
Knowledge of HR functions, particularly employee onboarding, benefits and state tax regulations
Proven ability to work in fast-paced, high-growth startup environments
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Math, Economics or related field
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
A natural problem solver
Preferred
Experience with SOC 2 Type 2 compliance
Background in B2B Enterprise SaaS companies
Familiarity with Series A or early-stage venture-backed funding environments
Experience with Federal contracting and procurement processes
Experience with Sales Operations and/or Revenue Operations
Experience with hiring, inclusive of sourcing and managing outsourced recruiters
MBA or relevant advanced degree
