Primary purpose of the position:
The Growth Organization is redefining the way that we engage with our Commercial counterparts to support our strategic initiatives. The Manager, Commercial Operations will work with the Director, Regional Strategy & Marketing to design, develop, deploy and grow the Commercial engagement model that will better meet the needs of our key account teams and – most critically – our customers. The role will interact with all levels of the strategic account teams and provide leadership and standardization for the Growth and Commercial organizations. Key to this position will be owning process development, optimization and training, reporting and analytics, and other ad hoc projects as needed for standardized account management.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Work with the Director in developing and implementing structured business partnerships that will improve and streamline commercial roles and customer experience.
- Effectively communicate and work across function within the Growth Organization to ensure that Ball and the customers’ strategic plans are aligned to Ball’s executional Commercial support functions.
- Develop metrics and reporting that will effectively communicate Commercial’s operational targets. Own and lead the monthly KPI process for the Commercial organization, inclusive of facilitating the regular meeting cadences and follow-up actions as required.
- Prepares business-related analyses and reporting on both regular and ad-hoc cadences for a diverse range of internal and external audiences to support Play to Win strategy. Organizes and administers commercial opportunity pipeline.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to identify process improvement opportunities, prioritize and drive to completion; works to deploy commercial excellence framework and commercial standards.
- Conceptualize and deliver tools, templates and general support frameworks for the Commercial team. Drive alignment cross-functionally using ani objective, data-driven approach that effectively leverages available analyst resources.
- Critical thinking and problem solving are necessary skills to be successful in this role as you will be a primary point of escalation for Commercial related issues; handle field escalations of day-to-day issues related to key Commercial processes and drive to resolution in a matrixed organization. Support routine and ad-hoc projects and requests originating from the Growth and/or Commercial organization and elsewhere.
- Prepare and present compelling slide decks related to key Growth and/or Commercial initiatives to a wide range of audiences, including executive leadership.
- Work with global Commercial Excellence leader and lead implementation and adoption of Commercial Excellence programs in the region.
- Own opportunity pipeline data, including working closely with commercial, strategy and marketing teams to input, validate and manage; analyzes and reports out data to region or global stakeholders.

Education, Skills & Knowledge Required
Completed Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Analytics, or related field
Advanced or Fluent English
Experience doing analysis, process definition/improvement, KPI measurement, or related
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data, forecast data, or supply chain data and provide meaningful insights and recommendations.
Storytelling skills to persuasively communicate information and recommendations to senior executives and influence decisions by building consensus and mobilizing towards successful adoption
Experience in collaborating with critical stakeholders, identifying solutions-based approaches
Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Working knowledge of Commercial sales process, onboarding customers, and customer requirements
Working knowledge of CRMs and business tools
Working knowledge of KPI development and measurement
Working knowledge of process improvement and project management principles.
