Position overview:

The EHS Manager will provide advice and guidance to the plant management on health, safety and environmental (EHS) issues and the management of EHS risks to ensure the plant meets it legislative obligations and Ball requirements in a proactive manner.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Applying and ensuring compliance with all legal, environmental, and safety requirements and/or inspections and planning and implementing programs related to occupational safety and health, as well as facility maintenance, in accordance with Ball standards
  • Maintaining Information Systems related to occupational safety and health activities
  • Establishing, coordinating, and maintaining records of the safety committee and implementing recommendations related to occupational safety and health
  • Developing Standard Operating Procedures aimed at ensuring safety and participating in various audits as requested by the company
  • Initiating initiatives aimed at reducing incidents, adopting best practices, processes, and techniques.
  • Identifying the causes of workplace accidents/injuries, undertaking and implementing corrective measures and providing training and education to both new and existing employees on topics related to occupational safety and health.
  • Monitoring and tracking pre-established safety goals and coordinating and overseeing the work of agencies, suppliers, and other service providers within the facility
  • Collecting, maintaining, and sharing a database of best practices with other Ball locations and reporting on location-specific goals, analyzing trends and developments, and monitoring the continuous improvement plan
  • Being member of the Food Safety/Food Defense team and permanent firefighting team and obligated to fulfill duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Decision on Appointing Members of the Permanent Firefighting Team for Implementing Preventive Fire Protection Measures
  • Managing and organizing the fire protection service and managing hazardous and non-hazardous waste processes.
  • Managing the facility security service and responsible for facility maintenance management
  • Planning and monitoring the budget for facility maintenance and waste management
  • Setting up and regular revive of Risk management process

What are we looking for?

  • University degree, preferably in Environmental Protection, Occupational Safety, Technical Sciences, or related fields
  • Job related experience for minimum 4 years in similar roles, particularly in an industrial environment
  • Experience in implementing and managing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management systems according to international standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
  • Excellent knowledge of legal regulations related to environmental protection, health, and occupational safety
  • Understanding and practical application of tools for risk management, hazard identification, and implementation of preventive measures
  • Serbian Certification for Health and Safety and Fire protection is mandatory
  • Fluent English
