Position Overview:


As the Order Fulfillment Specialist, you’re a key member of the Supply Chain Execution team, reporting to the Customer Fulfilment Supervisor. You will contribute to the success of Ball by providing electronic order fulfilment services to our customers. You will manage inventory, orders, and shipment information for regional specific production plants, fillers and warehouses.

Your Key Areas of Responsibilities Include:

  • Drive to continuously meet or exceed service, financial and product supply goals by partnering with the internal and external stakeholder groups.
  • Receive customer orders and changes, input them to the ERP system and forward the orders using various systems to transportation providers to complete delivery.
  • Assist in monitoring shipping schedules at distribution centers; track customer shipments at the request of the customer, communicate and resolve issues around fulfilling customer orders and negotiate alternative plans for delivery.
  • Ensure customers adhere to order guidelines and proactively recommend order management and process improvements to customers.
  • Prepare export documents, as required, to support international shipments.
  • Review, analyze, take action on reports from cross-functional departments.
  • Work with external and internal business partners to resolve customer ordering issues through multiple ordering platforms.
  • Monitor inventory levels of customer products, notifying production control manager of impending shortages.
  • Review inventory levels of products in distribution centers and schedule inventory transfers to replenish shortages and alert respective Production Control Manager of any supply issues.
  • Monitor Cash-in-Advance (CiA) customer payment receipts and notify production control manager of cash receipt triggering authorization to produce product.
  • Facilitate, coordinate, and follow through to completion: credit orders and customer reimbursement.
  • Maintain business data to support customer order fulfilment in the ERP system.
  • Provide support off-hours (i.e. after business hours, weekends,) in case of any urgent customer issues and manage critical cases with a sense of urgency and ownership.
  • Manage external relationships to ensure that their product needs are satisfied
  • Support project managers to prioritize task / address red flags. Handles/ helps resolve deviation in project plans.
  • Track key performance metrics like ad-hoc requests while keeping up with our weekly and monthly deliverables.
  • Participate in training new members of the team, provide assistance, as needed while customers transition to team members.
  • Follow all company policies (Safety, Business Ethics, HR, etc.).


Required Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution and/or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Three (3) years minimum in a customer facing role that required dedication to professional integrity, excellent critical thinking and problem resolution skills and an ability to manage demanding situations and maintaining a positive, professional and productive work environment.
  • Experience analyzing data and making recommendations (strong mathematical and data analysis skills).
  • Experience in roles that required the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, intermediate level skills in Excel (Pivot Tables, Vlookups) and capability to learn new computer systems quickly and proficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, within set parameters but also with minimal guidance.
  • Excellent professional communication (written and verbal) skills; able to communicate effectively (clear and concise), and able to read, comprehend, and follow complicated verbal and written instructions.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Account management experience with end-to-end fulfilment of customer purchase orders.
  • Experience in ERP systems (such as JDE or other similar systems)
  • Demonstrated capability to collaborate and influence others at remote locations.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hiring Salary Range: $64,600 - $90,000 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
  • This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
