Position Overview:

As the Metal Planning Analyst and Senior Metal Planning Analyst, you will be key members of the Supply Chain Execution and Planning team, reporting to the Manager, Metal Planning. You will contribute to the success of Ball by working cross-functionally with Procurement, Commercial, Finance, and Planning teams to manage an executable and cost effective metal forecast.

Both roles will leverage analytical skills and strategic insight to develop accurate forecasts and drive continuous process improvements.

Your Key Areas of Responsibilities Include:


BOTH:

  • Gather, update, and maintain input files for monthly and weekly forecast models.
    • Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
    • Update and manage data visualizations and dashboards for measuring KPI’s.
    • Utilize statistical tools and software to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data.
  • Monitor aluminum inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels, minimizing excess inventory and stockouts.
  • Participate (assist and/or leads) in the implementation and testing of new tools and processes ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Gather materials to aid in presentations internally to stakeholders as well as externally to customers.
  • Coordinate with Production Planning teams to adjust schedules based on material availability and demand forecasts.
  • Analyze logistics and transportation strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of aluminum materials.
    • Coordinate with Logistics teams on coil warehouse capacities, throughput, and inventory levels.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in planning and forecasting operations.

In addition to the above responsibilities, the Senior Metal Planning Analyst will be responsible for the following:

  • Plan and forecast the metal requirements necessary to operate the business while ensuring optimal inventory management and adapting to market and customer requirements.
  • Lead the improvement of long-term and short-term metal forecast processes.
  • Create customer specific metal planning files and identify changes across production, demand, and inventory for each SIOP cycle.
  • Mentor and train Metal Planning Analyst, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and knowledge.

What Are We Seeking?

BOTH:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline (with preference towards: Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, etc.)
  • Demonstrated Skills & Competencies:
    • Analyzing and interpreting large datasets.
    • Collaborative work experience on cross-functional projects.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with a strong proficiency with Excel including the ability to write formulas and create/navigate pivot tables and charts.
    • Meeting tight deadlines with an emphasis on accuracy.
    • Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills, strong presentation skills and ability to provide clear and concise presentations to leadership.

REQUIREMENTS for METAL PLANNING ANALYST:

  • 0-1 years’ experience doing supply chain forecasting, planning, execution, and/or analysis.
  • 0-1 years’ experience gathering, cleaning, and manipulating large data sets.

REQUIREMENTS for SENIOR METAL PLANNING ANALYST:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with complex data analysis with large datasets.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience supply chain planning and execution.
  • Experience leading and designing projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentorship skills.
  • Statistical analysis and forecasting experience.

Preferred Skills Experience and Competencies:

  • Working Knowledge of:
    • Supply chain planning and execution
    • SIOP (Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning)
    • Data analysis tools such as: Qlik, Access, Snowflake, database query

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hiring Salary Range for METAL PLANNING ANALYST: $64,600 - $96,600 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
  • Hiring Salary Range for SENIOR METAL PLANNING ANALYST: $83,200 - $124,660 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
  • Both roles are eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.

  • Based in Colorado, these positions require regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
