Director of Information Technology Services (ITS) – Tactical Solutions Lead
Lead with demonstrated skills in executing the vision for a Tactical Solutions (TS) ITS organization focused on support and services to enable growth and business success within Tactical Solutions strategic business unit (SBU). This role has significant responsibilities and impact on business performance and capability as it relates the TS SBU. The role is responsible for partnering with the TS SBU to enable achievement of their strategic goals and program execution responsibilities. This position reports to the Senior Director for ITS and is based in Broomfield, Colorado.
This position is responsible for leading teams responsible for operational excellence, delivery, project execution, and security for the SBU. Plan and oversee integration of new technology, capacity planning, performance and technical support and aligning behind ITIL best practices within the SBU.
What You’ll Do:
- Partner with TS Engineering organization and senior leadership: Chief Software Engineer, Architect, as well as Enterprise Assurance, Cybersecurity and other related organizations
- Lead maturation of Ball Aerospace DevSecOps process and agile software development methodologies
- Manage IT services including systems support and maintenance, application development and integration for engineering, manufacturing, supply chains, finance, human resources, information security, business intelligence, collaboration and communication systems, and quality assurance supporting Tactical Solutions SBU.
- Establish a systematic approach to prioritize and execute projects on behalf of the TS SBU in the context of Ball’s business priorities.
- Develop comprehensive plans in collaboration with the business to include service level agreements (SLA) and risk mitigation strategies for any resources required to support business needs.
- Partner with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to establish and maintain an enterprise-wide information security risk management program.
- Partner with the Digital Enterprise Director on enterprise digital strategy planning, prioritization, and execution
- Serving as a Director, create a collaborative partnership with TS and other strategic capability units and support organizations to capture execution requirements and identify and support an overarching technology architecture to implement IT solutions for the execution of advanced technology development.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, other Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
What You’ll Need:
- BS/BA in a related field plus 15 years or more related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Degree in Business, Technology, or related area, with experience in technology management, or project management preferred.
- A current, active Top Secret security clearance is required.
- Leadership experience partnering with financial systems, business development, supply chain management, engineering design, configuration management, manufacturing processes, information security, business intelligence, collaboration and communication systems, and quality assurance.
- In-depth experience with the implementation of strategic initiatives including information security to meet overall business needs.
- High level of business and financial acumen and experience.
- Proven proficiency in identifying business problems and designing, developing, and implementing complex, large scale technology solutions, preferably in a technology, engineering, or complex manufacturing organization.
- Proven experience in developing a vision, roadmap, and successful technology framework.
- Proven experience working with new technologies and a track record of innovation and implementation.
- Proven expertise in project management, consensus building, process improvement, and budgeting.
- Must be able to gain the confidence and meet the needs of all organizational levels, from corporate executives responsible for sponsoring technology changes to end-user of the technology.
- Proven people leadership and interpersonal skills, including excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated ICA (Inspire, Connect, Achieve) values.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site four or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

Compensation & Benefits:
- HIRING SALARY RANGE: $181,000 - $250,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
- Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
- Subject to business and individual performance, and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in a long-term incentive compensation plan.
