Our team is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and integration of the avionics subsystem, requiring strong cross-functional problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills. This role includes responsibility for the design and integration of the flight computer and related circuitry.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will play a key role in the design, development, integration, and test of electronic circuits for commercial human spaceflight modules including flight computers, power systems, and data interfaces
Translate high-level project and system requirements into well-defined hardware architectures working with cross-functional teams in R&D, mechanical design, software, manufacturing, and support
Responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing product schedules to ensure timely development, production, and delivery throughout the product lifecycle
Design single PCBs and/or complete instruments including FPGA, microprocessors, power, and analog components
Develop system level schematics for space rated aviation hardware systems
Rapidly build and test prototypes, debug, and prepare documentation for manufacturing, and support
Develop fault & radiation tolerant computing architecture for space applications
Perform system-level analysis including thermal management
Perform additional job duties as assigned

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college requires a minimum of 4 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience
Familiarity with data interface protocols and associated hardware such as Ethernet, RS232, RS422, RS485, I2C, SPI etc
Proficiency in digital circuit design, PCB layout, and high-speed signal integrity analysis
Proficiency with PCBA schematic and layout software such as Altium, KiCad, or equivalent
Knowledge of NASA & Commercial avionics standards such as (DO-254, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, etc)
Experience with test hardware such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, logic analyzers, function generators, electronic load banks, power supplies, power analyzers
Prior experience in design and integration of power systems
Prior experience in design and test of stepper and BLDC control circuits
Essential Functions
Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task
Requirements
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation

Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time)
May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time)
