We are looking for individuals who are passionate about learning, open to mentoring by top professionals, customer service, and developing problem solving skills. The role requires initiative, organization, time management, and communication skills. The 2025 Summer Internship Program will be onsite at Axiom Space located in Houston, Texas from June 2 to August 22. Interns are responsible for arranging their own transportation and accommodations as no relocation or housing assistance will be provided.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Axiom’s Payload Integration and Operations team members with a wide variety of activities to prepare and operate payloads on the International Space Station (ISS). Activities will vary depending on specific payload or mission needs during the performance period.

  • Review and provide inputs for Axiom payload integration and operational products, including customer agreements, payload requirements documents, integration schedules, implementation plans, manifest inputs, crew timelines, and payload constraints.

  • Assist team in a variety of payload integration and operations activities. Examples include safety reviews, testing, training, hardware processing through helping to maintain and organize the research and medical operations lab supplies, schedule, and usage.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Rising Junior or Senior or Advanced Degree (MS/MA or Ph.D) studying Engineering, Science, or a related field.

  • Cumulative GPA 3.0 or higher.

Essential Functions

  • Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Requirements

  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.

Physical Requirements

  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
