Company Description

Auriga Space is revolutionizing propulsion systems through innovative electromagnetic launch technology designed for hypersonics, missile defense, and space access. Our fully reusable systems operate using electricity instead of conventional fuel, drastically reducing costs. This technology enables rapid and repeatable launch capabilities, setting a new standard in the aerospace industry. We are committed to creating cutting-edge solutions that reshape the future of space exploration and defense applications.

Role Description

We are seeking an Electrical Test Engineer to join our team and own the testing, validation, and qualification of high-power electronics and control systems that drive our electromagnetic launch platforms. This role focuses on hands-on work in the lab, including defining test plans, instrumenting systems, conducting experiments, and analyzing performance to ensure reliability and compliance. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and work closely with design engineers to close the loop between design, prototype, and test.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute test plans for power electronics assemblies, control circuits, and high-voltage systems.
  • Design and implement test fixtures, data acquisition setups, and automation scripts to streamline test workflows.
  • Conduct performance and reliability testing of subcomponents and integrated systems under operational loads.
  • Use lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, high-voltage probes, spectrum analyzers, power meters, etc.) to diagnose issues and validate performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to improve hardware through data-driven insights.
  • Document test procedures, results, and non-conformance reports for internal review and future development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience
  • Solid foundation in electric circuit theory, transient analysis, and power conversion systems.
  • Experience with high-voltage or high-current testing setups preferred.
  • Proficiency with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, and data logging systems.
  • Understanding of semiconductor devices and analog/digital circuits
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to translate test data into actionable feedback.
  • Comfort working in an experimental, hands-on lab environment within a small, cross-functional team.

ITAR Requirements:

  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
