Head of Manufacturing and Supply Chain

Auriga is developing novel electromagnetic launch technology for on-demand orbital access. Our system replaces the first stage of a traditional rocket with a ground-based accelerator, drastically reducing costs and enabling rapid, reusable launch capabilities. We work at the intersection of aerospace, advanced power electronics, and control systems to deliver new capabilities for space and defense.

Role Summary:

We are looking for a Head of Manufacturing and Supply Chain to join our team and lead the build-out and execution of Auriga’s manufacturing and supply chain operations. This role will be responsible for developing production processes, managing suppliers and procurement, directing the build of prototypes and products, and helping ensure materials and hardware are available to support prototype builds and future scale-up. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a startup environment, building processes from the ground up, and partnering closely with engineering, quality, and operations teams.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and lead Auriga’s manufacturing and supply chain strategy to support current programs and future scale
• Be responsible for the on-time production of components, systems and products while seeking cost-effective solutions
• Build and improve production processes, material flow, and operational planning
• Manage supplier sourcing, procurement, vendor relationships, and delivery performance
• Support production readiness by ensuring materials, parts, and critical components are available on schedule
• Partner closely with engineering and quality teams to support prototype builds, design changes, and manufacturing improvements
• Track inventory, lead times, and supply risks, and implement mitigation plans as needed
• Help establish metrics, systems, and reporting for manufacturing and supply chain performance
• Drive cost, schedule, and quality improvements across manufacturing and supply chain activities
• Building systems management, power infrastructure, and space planning
• Capable of balancing big-picture planning with hands-on problem solving
• Anticipates needs, identifies risks early, and drives proactive solutions

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, production, or operations roles
• Experience with large-volume parts production.
• Experience leading supplier management, procurement, and production planning activities
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, inventory control, and material planning; Previous experience implementing QMS, WMS/IMS, and MES is a plus.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including engineering, quality, and finance
• Ability to identify operational risks and implement practical solutions in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Experience in aerospace, defense, hardware, or other complex technical manufacturing environments is a plus
• Familiarity with prime and subcontractor relationships, flow-down requirements, and industry standards such as AS9100 and ISO 9001 is preferred.
