Auriga Space
This is the opportunity of a lifetime. Auriga Space is revolutionizing space access by developing electromagnetic space launch systems that offer significant advantages in launch cost, reliability, frequency, and responsiveness compared to traditional rockets.
We are looking for an electrical engineer with a specialization in power electronics to join our team and help drive hardware projects from conceptual design to qualification, starting with requirements generation, concept development, prototyping, and system qualification. The ideal candidate will thrive in a start-up environment and be excited to work with a small, high-performing, and hands-on team.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide oversight, design, and testing of high-voltage power electronics systems for electric machines, develop hardware requirements, build prototypes, select components, design schematics, perform PCB layouts, and validate designs.
- Collaborate with systems architecture, mechanical design, PCB layout, manufacturing, reliability, and firmware engineering teams to design, test, validate, and manufacture high-voltage hardware.
- Contribute to the architecture and modeling of power electronics topologies that improve performance, efficiency, cost and reliability
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in power electronics.
- Minimum of 5 years in power electronics engineering
- Comfortable working in a high voltage environment and outstanding track record for safety.
- Proficiency in the theory and application of magnetics (inductors, transformers) and capacitors for high-power applications.
- Familiar with schematic capture, circuit simulation tools, and PCB layout techniques for minimal inductance/capacitance and EMC optimization.
- Proficiency with basic EE tools (Oscilloscopes, Network Analyzers, Signal Generators) and test automation programming.
- Knowledge of control theory and experience with embedded programming.
- Experience with high-voltage pulse power applications is a plus.
