Astroscale UK is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Information Security Analyst to support our organisation's security posture. The successful candidate will be responsible for vulnerability management, threat intelligence, and information security awareness and training. This role is critical in identifying, assessing, and mitigating security risks across the business.

Astroscale UK have an increasing set of space operations across commercial and government areas. The secure provision of IT services to underpin those missions is one of the many keys to our success. This role will provide opportunities to analyse and assess threats to our networks and missions, identify vulnerabilities that could be hamper our mission’s success, and support our diverse team in ensuring they understand those threats and vulnerabilities and how they can respond to them.

Responsibilities

  • Tracking vulnerabilities within software, providing prioritisation and status updates on patching progress to IT, Security and Engineering leads.
  • Tracking and managing threat intelligence, and the organisation’s response to current threats
  • Assisting with ISO 27001 implementation and ongoing Information Security Management System (ISMS) management
  • Leading on Information Security training for staff across the business using 3rd party platform
  • Designing, implementing and monitoring phishing simulations
  • Contributing as part of the team responding to security alerts

Essential Skills

  • Degree Educated in a Science, Engineering or Computing discipline
  • 2+ years of experience within an information security setting
  • Good understanding of information security and practical experience of defending against cyber threats
  • Experience of vulnerability scanning and tracking
  • Ability to explain different types of threats, vulnerabilities, and risks, and how they impact a business.
  • Experience delivering training
  • Ability and willing to achieve SC clearance level

Desirable skills

  • Experience with MS Defender and/or working with a 3rd party Security Operations Centre (SOC)
  • Cybersecurity qualifications such as CompTIA Security+, CSA CCSK or ISC2 SSCP
  • Experience with ISO 27001 ISMS or Cyber Essentials +
  • Experience with risk assessment and management
  • Good level of understanding of common cloud platforms
