Quality Inspector (NASA LTVS Contingent)

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Inspector to uphold the highest standards of quality for our products. The Quality Inspector will perform detailed inspections at various stages of production, including receiving, in-process, and final inspections, ensuring compliance with technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards. This role requires proficiency with precision measurement tools and a keen eye for detail to identify defects and ensure product integrity.
*Employment in this role is contingent on Astrolab being selected as a winner of NASA’s LTVS program, scheduled for announcement on November 15, 2025.*

What you'll do:
- Receiving Inspections including incoming packages for gross damage; verification of part number, revision, quantity, and proper Quality Clause documentation per the supplier Quality Manual; dimensional verification to the print and other specification callouts like part marking, etc.
- In-Process & Final Inspections including closeout reviews for proper installation, wiring, and functionality; ensure no foreign object debris is present; validate revision, part numbers, flight pedigree, and lot serial numbers; visual inspections for damage; validate conformance to drawing specifications; review test packages; and confirm all contract deliverables are met
- Lead calibration for the organization
- Build procedure review and approval
- Material review board process includes issue ticket review and physical part movement
- Conduct additional hand tool measurements and visual inspections as needed, utilizing calipers, micrometers, height gages, bore gauges, etc.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience in quality inspection, preferably in an Aerospace manufacturing or technical environment
- Blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and bore gauges)
- Familiarity with industry standards and technical documentation
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation
- This role may involve standing for extended periods and working in a production or warehouse setting
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and handle materials as required during inspections
