As a Software Engineering intern at Astrolab, you will have the unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge software solutions for our FLEX rover, contributing to our ambitious mission to the Moon. What you'll do:
- Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining vehicle, ground, and test software in support of development and operation of Astrolab’s FLEX rover
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Software engineers, Mechanical engineers, and Avionics engineers, to ensure seamless integration of software solutions
- Participate in software testing and debugging to ensure reliability and performance in extreme environments
- Contribute to developing tools and scripts for data analysis and mission simulation
- Engage in code reviews and contribute to software documentation
- Stay updated with the latest robotics, software engineering, and space exploration advancements
What you'll bring:
- Education: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a STEM-related degree (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering)
- Experience: At least 3 months of applied engineering experience outside of the classroom, including research, extracurricular project teams, personal projects, or prior internship/work experience
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, or similar general-purpose programming languages
- Experience developing and testing software for engineering applications (e.g. robotics, rockets, electric vehicles, UAVs, or similar)
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Passion for space technology and a keen interest in software development, robotics and vehicles
