Job Description
As an Integration & Test Engineering Intern, you will work under the supervision of our spacecraft integration and test team to support the development, validation, and delivery of flight-ready hardware. You’ll assist in setting up, executing, and troubleshooting tests across various spacecraft subsystems. This role is ideal for someone excited to work in a dynamic lab environment and who thrives on solving real-world problems through prototyping and iteration.
Basic Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university, with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Must be a rising senior.
- Must not be otherwise employed for the duration of the internship.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Proof of US Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
Responsibilities
- Assist with integration and test of spacecraft subsystems and components, including mechanical, electrical, and software interfaces.
- Support the assembly, configuration, and functional testing of engineering and flight units.
- Help develop and refine test procedures, ensuring test setups are safe, effective, and repeatable.
- Operate and maintain lab equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and environmental chambers.
- Capture, analyze, and document test data with high attention to detail and traceability.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to troubleshoot integration issues and iterate on hardware and software solutions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-conscious lab environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with lab work such as soldering, debugging, and using electronic test equipment.
- Basic programming or scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, automation tools).
- Understanding of spacecraft systems, hardware interfaces, or mechatronic systems.
- Ability to learn quickly, communicate clearly, and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Skills
- Willingness to learn software skills and programming.
- Involvement in aerospace projects, robotics teams, or student competitions is a plus but not required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
Location: Onsite in Seal Beach, CA
Pay Rate: $30.00 per hour
Duration: 10 weeks
