Job Summary:
We are seeking a Deputy Program Manager to support the development, production, and delivery of small satellite missions with guidance from Senior Program Managers. The ideal candidate will possess strong project communication skills, technical experience in one area of satellite or similar space system development, and an understanding of program schedules from award to launch. This role will require collaboration with cross-functional teams, customers, and vendors to ensure the successful delivery of small satellite missions that meet the company's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Align schedules across all spacecraft programs and report any identified interferences.
- Provide detailed task tracking, reaching out to task owners for weekly status updates.
- Coordinate with supply chain and production to monitor program procurements to ensure on time delivery of hardware.
- Establish and maintain a risk database.
- Support program meetings, providing detailed notes and actions.
- Act as the secondary point of contact for customers.
- Collaborate with engineering and test teams to resolve technical challenges and roadblocks.
- Support regulatory agency application processes.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field.
- 5+ years of experience in a technical role, with a focus on small satellite missions, no prior program management experience required.
Skills and Abilities:
- Understanding of end-to-end satellite programs from award to launch.
- Knowledge of spacecraft assembly, integration, and test activities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Understanding of industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to satellite systems and space missions.
- A strong desire to be mentored and a drive to learn from senior level personnel.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel as needed to support project activities, including meetings with customers, partners, and regulatory agencies.
- Eligibility to work on USG projects and obtain any necessary security clearances.
Job Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $115k – $145k/year
Location: Hybrid (minimum 3 days/wk onsite) in Littleton, CO
