Senior Sales Manager, Energy Storage
Full-Time | Remote - 50% Travel
Piper Maddox has partnered with a global battery manufacturer at the forefront of the utility-scale energy storage market in North America. They are looking for a Senior Sales Manager to own key account relationships and drive commercial growth across their BESS portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Own and grow a portfolio of key accounts across utilities, IPPs, and EPCs — leading win strategy, contract negotiation, and execution from first conversation through close.
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships that create long-term preference, influence product direction, and drive increased sales penetration and profitability.
- Develop and implement opportunity strategies with a deep understanding of customer needs, the competitive landscape, and how to position our client's value proposition to win.
- Mobilize internal teams to deliver responsive proposals, resolve product and service issues, and ensure customer satisfaction at every stage of the account lifecycle.
- Maintain rigorous pipeline discipline through Salesforce, deliver accurate sales forecasting, and lead recovery plans when targets require course correction.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of technical sales experience in the energy sector with a proven track record of exceeding targets — background in power generation, T&D, renewables, or energy storage strongly preferred
- Deep experience selling into utilities, IPPs, EPCs, or power developers with the ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder deal cycles
- Executive presence and relationship-building skills that open doors at the C-suite level and sustain long-term commercial partnerships
- Full proficiency in Salesforce or equivalent CRM with strong organizational and pipeline management discipline
- BS in Engineering or Business required; MBA preferred — must have unrestricted US work authorization and willingness to travel ~50%
