Position Overview
We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead and develop the maintenance organization across multiple shifts and sites. This hands-on leadership role ensures safe and reliable operation of all equipment and facilities while driving continuous improvement in preventive maintenance programs, inventory controls, and maintenance systems. The Maintenance Manager will work closely with shop floor leaders and engineering teams, maintaining a strong presence on the production floor to train, mentor, and support the maintenance workforce. This is an opportunity to help design and implement a world-class maintenance program from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and develop maintenance technicians across three shifts and multiple locations.
- Promote a hands-on leadership style by working on the floor, supporting troubleshooting, and providing real-time training.
- Assign daily tasks, manage shift coverage, and ensure proper utilization of manpower.
- Conduct regular team meetings, safety briefings, and coaching sessions.
- Drive continuous improvement of the preventive maintenance (PM) program.
- Create, review, and enhance PM procedures using standardized formats and tools.
- Ensure timely completion, documentation, and compliance of all scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with engineering to identify long-term reliability improvements.
- Develop and maintain the maintenance parts inventory and labeling system.
- Work with procurement and storeroom personnel to standardize parts naming, usage tracking, and replenishment signals.
- Ensure appropriate critical spares are identified and maintained.
- Utilize Microsoft Word and related software to create PM sheets, procedures, logs, and training documents.
- Apply working knowledge of codes and standards, including the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Assist technicians with troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and facility systems.
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA, NEC, and internal safety requirements.
- Coordinate daily with production managers, supervisors, quality, and engineering teams.
- Communicate equipment priorities, planned work, and downtime expectations.
- Support production and engineering during equipment installation, commissioning, and process improvement activities.
- Maintain accurate records of PM completion, work orders, inventory usage, and equipment history.
- Prepare reports on maintenance KPIs, downtime trends, staffing needs, and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma required.
- Technical degree or certification in maintenance-related trades preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, industrial, or facility environments.
- 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Experience managing multi-shift or multi-site maintenance teams is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance certifications.
- Familiarity with NEC and applicable industrial standards.
