Position Overview
We are seeking Senior Software Integration Engineer to join our dynamic defense team. This role focuses on integrating multiple software components, modules, and third-party libraries into a cohesive, functional system for our space-based platforms. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented engineer with a passion for building robust software systems and ensuring all parts work together seamlessly. This role is hybrid, 3 days on site at Lanham.MD location / 2 days virtual. Within 6 to 9 months position will relocate to Tysons Corner, VA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on integration of various software components, including firmware, embedded applications, and signal processing algorithms, onto target hardware.
  • Develop and maintain software integration plans, procedures, and automated scripts to streamline the build and deployment process.
  • Collaborate closely with software development and systems engineering teams to define software interfaces (APIs) and resolve integration dependencies.
  • Configure, manage, and maintain the software integration environment, including build servers, version control systems, and continuous integration (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues that arise during software integration, performing root cause analysis and working across teams to implement solutions.
  • Document the integration process, software builds, and release configurations to ensure repeatability and traceability.
  • Support system-level testing by providing stable software builds and assisting with the verification of software-hardware integration.

Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in software integration, DevOps, or software engineering, preferably in aerospace, defense, or telecommunications environments
  • Experience with embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS)
  • Familiarity with software-hardware integration in space-based platforms
  • Knowledge of defense industry standards and practices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active US Security Clearance is highly preferred.

  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of all documentation and project deliverables

  • Programming and scripting: Python, C/C++, Bash
  • Version control systems: Git
  • Build automation tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI
  • Embedded systems and RTOS platforms
  • CI/CD pipeline configuration and management
  • Debugging and integration tools

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a standard office environment and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform hands-on testing in lab and chamber environments.
  • Occasional travel to customer sites or test ranges may be required.
